UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an accomplished academic Obstetric Anesthesiologist to serve as Division Chief of Obstetric Anesthesiology. This leadership role oversees obstetric anesthesia services across Parkland Health and William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, two of the region’s premier academic medical centers.
The Division Chief will provide strategic, clinical, and academic leadership for one of the nation’s busiest obstetric anesthesia programs. Parkland supports approximately 12,000 deliveries annually, while Clements University Hospital manages approximately 2,000 high-risk deliveries each year. The Division provides dedicated 24/7 in-house obstetric anesthesia coverage and plays a critical role in resident and fellow education.Key responsibilities include leading clinical operations, faculty recruitment and development, quality and patient safety initiatives, multidisciplinary collaboration, and educational and research programs. The Division Chief will partner closely with Obstetrics & Gynecology leadership, oversee staffing and resource utilization, and mentor faculty, trainees, CRNAs, and advanced practice providers. The role also includes oversight of two ACGME-accredited OB Anesthesia fellowship positions and opportunities to expand scholarly and translational research efforts.
Qualified candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, have completed an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency and OB Anesthesiology fellowship, be board-certified in Anesthesiology, and be eligible for Texas licensure. A strong commitment to clinical excellence, education, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration is essential.
